Brockley Tenants Cooperative Participation Group - BTC Voice

Brockley Tenants Cooperative Participation Group (BTC Voice) formed in November 2020. We are a working group, open to all BTC members. We work to find ways of encouraging and improving the participation of BTC members within our housing cooperative. We meet once a month on zoom, and have an email group.

We believe that with increased participation within our membership, we can create a community of members that support each other, generate wellbeing and further the housing agenda of BTC.

We also believe that where BTC has the consistent involvement of its members, we will grow and strengthen our resistance to face the challenges of the future.

Members of BTC Voice are committed to ensuring that the activities we engage in are celebratory and fun as well as informative and skills-building, because positive involvement and participation provides members with a sense of ownership and belonging.

BTC Voice activities are people-focussed. We aim to encourage participation in enjoyable, creative and fulfilling ways.

Our areas of work are varied and will include but are not limited to:

• Organising subsidised trips for members (seaside and theatres)
• Producing a members newsletter
• Holding regular coffee afternoons
• Data and knowledge gathering
• Improving member involvement
• Reviewing communication methods
• Recommending and implementing change (to improve participation)

Participation in BTC Voice is a good opportunity to engage in other aspects of our cooperative and to get to know your fellow members.

BTC Voice membership can be a productive tool to build your knowledge and to… participate!
